Feeling Stressed?
We offer Reiki as a complementary service to chiropractic care. Usui Reiki, a form of energy healing, is a gentle technique aimed at promoting relaxation and stress reduction, which some clients find beneficial in supporting overall wellness alongside their chiropractic treatments.
Our technique can include hands-on or hands-off techniques based on your preferences.
How Stress Can Impact Health
We all experience stress, but do you know what it's really doing to your body? It's more than just a feeling; it's a physiological response that can have significant consequences.

When stress hits, your "fight-or-flight" kicks in, flooding your system with adrenaline and cortisol. Adrenaline boosts your heart rate and energy, while cortisol increases blood sugar and suppresses non-essential functions. This is helpful for short bursts, but what about chronic stress?

Prolonged stress can wreak havoc. It can elevate blood pressure, increasing your risk of heart problems. It weakens your immune system, making you more vulnerable to illness. Digestive issues like IBS and stomach aches often arise. Muscle tension leads to headaches and back pain. Hormonal imbalances can disrupt reproductive health and metabolism. And let's not forget the mental toll: anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances.

Essentially, chronic stress throws your body's systems out of whack. It's a silent disruptor, impacting everything from your cardiovascular health to your mental well-being.

The good news? Awareness is the first step. Recognizing how stress affects you allows you to take proactive steps to manage it. Whether it's through exercise, mindfulness, or seeking professional help, prioritizing stress management is crucial for a healthier, happier you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Usui Reiki is a Japanese healing technique developed by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century, who, after a period of meditation and spiritual seeking, is said to have received the ability to channel healing energy. It spread from Japan to the West, evolving into various forms, but generally maintaining the core principles of hands-on energy transmission for relaxation and well-being.
What is Reiki?

5.
Usui Reiki is based on the concept of "universal life energy" (often referred to as "Ki" or "Chi") flowing through all living things. Reiki practitioners believe that when this life energy is low or blocked, it can lead to imbalances physically and emotionally. Reiki aims to restore and balance this energy flow.

Do I have to remove my clothes?
No, there is no need to remove any clothing, though we may ask you to remove your shoes. We offer clean socks for you to use during your appointment, and return at the end to be cleaned.

Most frequently people report feeling deeply relaxed, similar to a meditative state. Some individuals also feel sensations or warmth or cold, tingling, or pulsing in areas where the practitioner's hands are placed.

That's completely normal! You are not required to be awake to receive Reiki. Some people will fall asleep or find themselves in a deep meditative state. It's also possible that you may experience an emotional release which could manifest as tears, laughter, etc. This is the body's way of releasing stress and anxiety.
